Employment Opportunities:

As an employee, you will earn competitive wages and have an excellent selection of benefits. The Food Bank currently pays up to 100% of medical, dental and vision insurance premiums for regular employees who work 20 or more hours per week, and 60% or more for their dependents. Employees can choose between an HSA, HMO, or PPO medical plan with varying costs associated with each plan. Additional benefits include 100% Food Bank paid employee Life, AD&D, STD and LTD insurance, a "pre-tax" Flexible Benefit Plan, ten paid holidays and Flexible Time Off (FTO) starting at 20 days per year. We also offer a 403(b) Retirement Plan with a "5% of your pay" Food Bank contribution after one year of employment.

Front Office Specialist (24hr/week)
Front Office Specialist (16hr/week)

This position will provide courteous, informative and efficient telephone/counter reception for all visitors and to provide computer, administrative and clerical support services to office staff.

Information Systems Specialist

This position will support staff with the use of Food Bank technology. This includes supporting and training staff, troubleshooting PC and printer problems, installing and maintaining hardware, software, and telecommunications technologies, and documenting technology resources and problems. It also includes assisting in the maintenance of web media and the development of new technologies.

Associate Director of Marketing and Communications

Under the leadership of the Director of Development, the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and implementing the strategic communications and public relations plan for Second Harvest Food Bank. The Associate Director will collaborate across departments to support a range of outreach activities, newsletter and collateral projects, events and online constituent engagement. Although reporting to the Director of Development the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications will provide outstanding customer service and support to all departmental “internal clients” within the Food Bank.

Responsibilities also include building relationships with media representatives, developing high level situational messages, strengthening the organization’s presence and brand awareness in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties while serving as an agency spokesperson on television and radio. This position will supervise, coach and support a team of four employees.

Sanitation Specialist

The Sanitation Specialist will maintain the physical appearance and general sanitation of the warehouse and/or office facility through the use of generally accepted janitorial practices and materials in accordance with Second Harvest Food Bank policy and Feeding America monitoring methods.

Development Research Analyst

The Development Research Analyst will play a vital, proactive role in building, organizing and analyzing donor profiles. This position will be responsive to and collaborate closely with the development officers to broaden the organization's prospect base and to support the successful cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of high net worth donors.
