Zombie-O-Rama Strikes Again

On August 25th, Zombie-O-Rama, the annual zombie crawl in downtown San Jose, will be collecting donations of canned foods for Second Harvest Food Bank. Admission to the event is free, although everyone attending is being asked to bring at least one canned food item. The SLG Publishing Gallery will be open at noon and make-up artists will be on hand to "zombiefy" the make-up challenged for a fee depending on complexity. The rally point for the crawl will be Gore Park at the corners of South First Street and Williams in downtown San Jose with the crawl set to begin at 5:00 PM. First Annual Squarecrow's Ball – hosted by Dance Squared – Party for a Purpose

Whether you’re an expert square-dancer or have never been square, join Dance Squared for this great dancing event which benefits Second Harvest Food Bank and History San Jose. An introduction to square dancing will be held from 7:00-9:00pm with plus level dancing from 9:00-11:00pm (with expert Rich Reel). The cost to attend is $15.00 per person, or $10.00 with a donation of two cans of food. With a silent auction of handmade quilts this should be the harvest time event to attend, so grab your dancing shoes to be there and be square!


Orchard City Community Chorus Holiday Concert and Singer Search

Concert: December 3
Auditions and rehearsals: Mondays from 7:30-9:30pm

Looking to sing and help feed people at the same time? In preparation for their annual Holiday Concert, Orchard City Community Chorus is looking for new talent to join the performance group. In addition to gracing the community with song, a portion of the proceeds from the December concert will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. Culture Current Helps Feed Hungry People in Our Community

Culture Current encourages local business to join them in making a difference in our community through the purchase of advertising on their Biography Bag, an eco-friendly, 100% biodegradable shopping bag. Ten thousand bags will be distributed to local businesses with in our community and best of all 10% of the ad cost will be donated to Second Harvest to benefit hungry people in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. Paper = Food

You can help feed hungry people in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties by buying paper. Each time you buy a case of Give Something Back (GSB) 30% or 100% post-consumer recycled paper, GSB Inc. and Boise Inc. will donate $1 to the Food Bank. GSB was founded on a simple concept: sell office supplies and donate the profits to local non-profit organizations. Today GSB has become the largest independent office supply company in the western region and has given over $4 million back to impact our local communities. Feed people in our community by using eBay Giving Works! Standard fees will be credited back when you sell your unwanted items on eBay and donate 10-100% of the final sale price to Second Harvest Food Bank.
