Zombie-O-Rama Strikes Again

On August 25th, Zombie-O-Rama, the annual zombie crawl in downtown San Jose, will be collecting donations of canned foods for Second Harvest Food Bank. Admission to the event is free, although everyone attending is being asked to bring at least one canned food item. The SLG Publishing Gallery will be open at noon and make-up artists will be on hand to "zombiefy" the make-up challenged for a fee depending on complexity. The rally point for the crawl will be Gore Park at the corners of South First Street and Williams in downtown San Jose with the crawl set to begin at 5:00 PM. Whether you’re an expert square-dancer or have never been square, join Dance Squared for this great dancing event which benefits Second Harvest Food Bank and History San Jose. An introduction to square dancing will be held from 7:00-9:00pm with plus level dancing from 9:00-11:00pm (with expert Rich Reel). The cost to attend is $15.00 per person, or $10.00 with a donation of two cans of food. With a silent auction of handmade quilts this should be the harvest time event to attend, so grab your dancing shoes to be there and be square!

Looking to sing and help feed people at the same time? In preparation for their annual Holiday Concert, Orchard City Community Chorus is looking for new talent to join the performance group. In addition to gracing the community with song, a portion of the proceeds from the December concert will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. You can help feed hungry people in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties by buying paper.
