Emergency Help for Valley Fire Victims

The Valley Fire in Lake County was one of the most destructive in California's history, destroying nearly 1,300 homes. On September 22, President Obama signed a disaster declaration, freeing up federal funds for emergency assistance and our staff helped those affected apply for food stamps.

Strength in Numbers

Local hunger fighter Jennifer Puthoff, from our partner agency YMCA of Silicon Valley, spearheaded the expansion of their meal program at libraries in both Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. The organization now serves over 333,000 nutritious meals and snacks to nearly 102,000 children at 42 community sites every year.

CANstructing a Solution

We're celebrating a 20-year partnership with SanDisk Corporation. Over those years, SanDisk has provided 7.4 million meals to our neighbors in need. Kelly Petrich, from SanDisk, shares the company's efforts to end global hunger through CANstruction events, which originated in their Milpitas office.
