How do I start a Fundraiser?
Start your personal fundraiser by creating a fundraising page. You can use your Facebook account to fast track the setup of your page, or you can sign up with email. Either way, it will just take a minute!

If you're fundraising for an organization, you'll want to register for a food and fund drive.

What if I want to collect food?
Register to host a Food and Fund Drive and get access to our food collection barrels, helpful promotional materials, and an online donation page where your participants can donate directly to your drive.

Do you offer printed materials to promote my fundraising efforts?
Yes, we offer posters to help promote your fundraiser. To request supplies, please call our Donor Relations Team at (866) 234-3663.

 

Financial Donations

How do I turn in checks and cash throughout my fundraiser?
All checks and cash donated through your drive must be turned in with your FUNDRAISER NAME. Checks can be mailed to Second Harvest Food Bank, 4001 North 1st Street, San Jose, CA 95134 and cash and/or checks can be delivered to any of our locations. Please complete an Offline Donation Form if you are collecting cash donations on behalf of your Food and Fund Drive participants and include with your pooled donation.

How do I get my tax donation receipt?
Online donors will receive an automatic receipt via email. Offline donations of $5 or more will receive a receipt by mail, provided we received the donor's name and complete address at the time the donation is turned in. Please complete an Offline Donation Form if you are collecting cash donations or multiple checks on behalf of your fundraiser participants.

How do I apply for my company's matching gifts?
Many corporations have a matching gift program. Let participants know to consult their Human Resources department to see if their company matches charitable contributions and follow those instructions for applying for a match.
