Vice President of Human Resources
Barbara Wilets joined the Food Bank in 2016 as the Vice President of Human Resources. Barbara has more than 20 years of experience as an HR Director and Business Partner at a number of different technology companies in the valley. Most recently she was the Director of HR Programs, Systems and Services at Space Systems Loral (SSL) where she managed Compensation, HRIS, and HR Systems and Operations. Prior to her four years at SSL she worked in various HR capacities including as Director of HR Business Partners and Programs at Affymetrix and as a Business Partner at Sun Microsystems.
After graduating from U.C. Berkeley, Barbara worked as a policy analyst for the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors and as a political campaign consultant in the area before embarking on her HR career. In addition, Barbara pursued a teaching credential at San Jose State and she brings that knowledge of education into how she develops training programs for managers and staff. Barbara is focused on providing the Food Bank with strong HR programs that engage and support employees as we all strive to accomplish our mission.
As a long time financial supporter of Second Harvest, her cover letter emphatically stated, “I truly believe no one should go hungry in one of the richest places on earth.” Outside of working hours, Barbara is an active volunteer in the Cambrian community, and frequently can be found cheering on her kids at various sporting events.
