Vice President of Development and Marketing
Cat Cvengros joined Second Harvest Food Bank in 2017 as vice president of development and marketing. She brings with her a passion for ending the cycle of poverty and 13 years of experience matching donors’ philanthropic interests with the needs of the community. She was drawn to Second Harvest because of the organization’s laser-focused approach on continual improvement toward achieving its vision of a hunger-free community.
Before joining Second Harvest, Cvengros was chief development officer at Social Advocates for Youth (SAY) in Santa Rosa, which helps at-risk youth with housing, counseling, and career training. While there, she led a $9.8-million capital campaign to open SAY’s Finley Dream Center that provides temporary and permanent housing for more than 60 homeless and former foster children. Under her leadership, the agency increased its annual operating revenues by 133 percent over five years.
Prior to working at SAY, Cvengros worked at the Committee on the Shelterless in Petaluma from 2006 to 2010, where she was operations manager and development officer. Before that, she served in the United States Peace Corps for two years.
She was born in Michigan and holds an MBA from Dominican University in San Rafael, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Baldwin College in Berea, Ohio, where she graduated Cum Laude. She was also recognized in the North Bay Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 in 2014 and is a Leadership Santa Rosa Alumna.
