Dezember, fand in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Fair Oaks Health Center und dem Sequoia Healthcare District die Er\u00f6ffnung einer neuen Wellness-Speisekammer im San Mateo County bei der Heilsarmee in Redwood City statt. Die Wellness Pantry richtet sich an Personen mit niedrigem Einkommen, die an einer oder mehreren von f\u00fcnf Erkrankungen leiden: Pr\u00e4diabetes, Schwangerschaftsdiabetes, Diabetes, Bluthochdruck oder hoher Cholesterinspiegel. <strong>Dieses Programm wurde entwickelt, um den Gesundheitszustand eines Patienten in Verbindung mit medizinischen Leistungen seines Arztes zu verbessern.<\/strong> Es ist erwiesen, dass der Zugang zu ges\u00fcnderen und nahrhafteren Lebensmitteln dazu f\u00fchren kann, dass Patienten ihre Gesundheit verbessern, ihre medizinischen Kosten senken (weniger Medikamente, Zeit im Krankenhaus) und k\u00f6rperlich aktiver werden k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Die Klinik versorgt sch\u00e4tzungsweise 7.000 erwachsene Patienten. Eine grobe Sch\u00e4tzung, wie viele Menschen die Wellness-Speisekammer aufsuchen k\u00f6nnten, liegt bei 800 - 1.750 Personen.<\/strong> Screenings zur Ern\u00e4hrungsunsicherheit in der Klinik ber\u00fccksichtigen auch die Ern\u00e4hrungsbed\u00fcrfnisse aller Patienten. Wenn ein Patient von seinem Arzt untersucht wird und festgestellt wird, dass er keine der f\u00fcnf vorgegebenen Erkrankungen hat, erh\u00e4lt er eine \u00dcberweisung zu einem anderen gro\u00dfartigen Lebensmittelprogramm f\u00fcr die zweite Ernte mit gesunden Lebensmitteln in der N\u00e4he seines Wohnortes.<\/p>\n<p>Jeder, der die angegebenen Kriterien erf\u00fcllt, bringt das \u00dcberweisungsformular, das er von der Fair Oaks Health Clinic erhalten hat, zur Heilsarmee.
