Chefkoch Reynolds Stewart vom Cityteam San Jose, einem gemeinn\u00fctzigen Verein, der Lebensmittel, Unterk\u00fcnfte und Transformationsprogramme anbietet, schreibt hochwertige Zutaten von Second Harvest f\u00fcr die Unterst\u00fctzung seines Engagements f\u00fcr den Service zu.<\/p>\n<p>Am 1. November<sup>st<\/sup>Cityteam beginnt mit dem Sammeln von Preiselbeersauce, Gem\u00fcsekonserven und einigen der 500 Pfund Kartoffeln, die am Erntedankfest serviert werden. Sogar das Braten von Puten beginnt Wochen vor dem Feiertag mit 150 Puten, die in einem Ofen gekocht werden, der jeweils nur f\u00fcr 12 V\u00f6gel geeignet ist. Diese Puten werden in Chargen ger\u00f6stet, dann schnell in Br\u00fche eingefroren und warten bis zum Erntedankfest.<\/p>\n<p>Frische, gesunde Produkte von Second Harvest bilden die Grundlage f\u00fcr die K\u00fcche von Chef Reynolds. Er freut sich darauf, in unserem Lagerhaus einzukaufen, denn die himmelhohen Kisten mit lebhaften Zucchini lassen das Geb\u00e4ude \u201ewie der Himmel f\u00fchlen\u201c. Er ist dankbar f\u00fcr die Freiheit, Mahlzeiten auf gesunden Zutaten aufzubauen - zum Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck geh\u00f6ren immer dampfende Eier, bunte Fr\u00fcchte, Fleisch und energiegeladenes Geb\u00e4ck.<\/p>\n<p>Am Erntedankfest \u00f6ffnet das Cityteam um 6 Uhr morgens seine T\u00fcren mit einem Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck mit einer auf Bestellung zubereiteten Omelettbar. Trotz der intensiven Vorbereitung auf das Erntedankfest begr\u00fc\u00dft das Team die Bewohner und \u00f6rtlichen Obdachlosengemeinschaften mit einem sorgf\u00e4ltig zubereiteten und nahrhaften Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck.<\/p>\n<p>Mit 26 Jahren Erfahrung in der Hotellerie bewahrt Chef Reynolds die Qualit\u00e4t auf Restaurantebene. Die G\u00e4ste gehen durch eine von 10 Fu\u00dfwaschstationen, acht Friseuren und umfangreichen Schr\u00e4nken mit leicht benutzten Schuhen und Kleidungsst\u00fccken. Inzwischen setzen 40 Freiwillige die Tische zur\u00fcck, putzen und servieren das Dessert im Speisesaal.<\/p>\n<p>Chefkoch Reynolds verwandelt den Speisesaal in ein Wohnzimmer f\u00fcr Familien, in dem die Wurzeln einer Fu\u00dfballmannschaft aus der Heimatstadt wiederholt Teller mit Resten aufbrechen. Viele G\u00e4ste sind mit Unsicherheiten in Bezug auf ihre n\u00e4chste Mahlzeit konfrontiert, aber an Thanksgiving lehnen sie sich unter der Obhut freundlicher Freiwilliger und reichlich vorhandener Lebensmittel zur\u00fcck.<\/p>\n<p>Schlie\u00dflich verl\u00e4sst Chef Reynolds die K\u00fcche und \u00fcbernimmt die Rolle des Ma\u00eetre d &#039;und des Moderators.
