La distribuci\u00f3n de alimentos en este sitio ocurre una vez al mes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a1Ese d\u00eda, con la ayuda de voluntarios dedicados de la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Campbell, servimos a aproximadamente 170 familias! Cuando llegamos, ya hab\u00eda gente haciendo fila con carretas.<\/p>\n<p>Antes de que comenzara la distribuci\u00f3n, los voluntarios comenzaron a descargar toda la comida del cami\u00f3n y empacar los alimentos juntos. Por ejemplo, cada familia recibi\u00f3 2 paquetes de pollo, 4 latas de at\u00fan, 10 palitos de queso y m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Diane-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10233\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Diane-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Diane, nuestra directora de servicios voluntarios, empac\u00f3 pollos congelados para familias.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/volunteers.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10234\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/volunteers-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Los voluntarios de la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Campbell trabajaron arduamente para descargar y abrir todas las cajas de alimentos.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/volunteers-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10235\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/volunteers-2-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Los voluntarios alinearon productos alimenticios estrat\u00e9gicamente. Primero se dieron productos pesados como pollo y arroz congelado, luego productos livianos como latas de at\u00fan, tortillas, queso. No se muestra en la imagen: los productos frescos se entregan al final del edificio<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Nos entusiasm\u00f3 la calidad de la comida distribuida: \u00a1muchas frutas y verduras frescas para comer sano! Como parte de nuestra Pol\u00edtica de alimentos y bebidas saludables, Second Harvest no distribuye comida chatarra.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/volunteers-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10236\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/volunteers-3-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Los voluntarios de la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Campbell prepararon paquetes de palitos de queso para las familias.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/tim.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10240\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/tim-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Tim, nuestro Gerente de Recursos Humanos, trabaj\u00f3 duro para preparar el sitio para su distribuci\u00f3n.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Fuera del edificio, los voluntarios prepararon paquetes de verduras y frutas, como cebollas, papas y lechuga. Mientras Lejla, una de nuestras empleadas, empacaba papas para los clientes, \u00a1encontr\u00f3 una papa muy buena en forma de coraz\u00f3n!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/lejla.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10237\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/lejla-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u00a1Lejla, nuestro Asistente Administrativo de Desarrollo, encontr\u00f3 la papa perfecta para el D\u00eda de San Valent\u00edn!<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/potato.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10238\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.shfb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/potato-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>La foto perfecta para el d\u00eda de San Valent\u00edn (es posible que hayas visto esta foto en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/2ndharvest\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nuestro Instagram<\/a>).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Una vez que terminamos de descargar el cami\u00f3n y empaquetar los alimentos, comenz\u00f3 la distribuci\u00f3n y nuestros voluntarios llenaron los carros de los clientes con alimentos. Fue revelador darse cuenta de que en Silicon Valley, mucha gente conf\u00eda en la distribuci\u00f3n de alimentos de Second Harvest, pero tambi\u00e9n es muy refrescante ver las sonrisas en los rostros de nuestros clientes.
