Les supporters de Second Harvest saluent les visages de nos clients sur des tonneaux de dons, des lettres et des t\u00e9l\u00e9viseurs \u00e0 \u00e9cran plat. Au cours des derni\u00e8res f\u00eates de fin d'ann\u00e9e, nous avons introduit l'id\u00e9e que \u00able visage de la faim est plus familier que vous ne le pensez\u00bb et nous avons remis en question la fa\u00e7on dont les gens visualisent la faim. Notre propre Zia MacWilliams, gestionnaire des programmes f\u00e9d\u00e9raux de nutrition des enfants, a explor\u00e9 cette id\u00e9e \u00e0 travers un projet photo-journalistique avec sa s\u0153ur, Zel. Leurs portraits en noir et blanc de femmes r\u00e9silientes mettent en valeur la diversit\u00e9 des vies affect\u00e9es par la faim.<\/p>\n

Zia s'est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e aux femmes du projet lors de d\u00eeners au restaurant. Laissant le magn\u00e9tophone \u00e9teint dans ces environnements bruyants, Zia a cr\u00e9\u00e9 des souvenirs sp\u00e9ciaux pour ses sujets d'interview. Briser le pain a permis \u00e0 Zia de nouer des liens personnels cruciaux pour discuter de sujets difficiles. Au cours de ces repas, Zia a appris quelles garnitures de pizza les enfants pr\u00e9f\u00e9raient, tout en discutant des probl\u00e8mes de toxicomanie et d'abus. Ces relations ont commenc\u00e9 par le respect et la g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9 de partager un repas sp\u00e9cial. S'appuyant sur ces conversations informelles, les s\u0153urs affirment la complexit\u00e9 des visages f\u00e9minins de la faim. Pour soutenir leurs familles, quitter une religion ou survivre \u00e0 un foyer violent, Natasha, Wafaa, Vanessa et Kristen montrent comment la faim existe dans une vie plus large. Les r\u00e9cits simplistes consid\u00e8rent la faim comme un \u00e9chec personnel de la paresse ou de l'ineptie. Cependant, les images des MacWilliams rappellent aux lecteurs comment la faim affecte m\u00eame les individus les plus forts et les plus r\u00e9sistants. La larme sur le visage de Vanessa, l'affirmation de force de Wafaa et la gratitude de Kristen montrent \u00e0 quel point la faim est personnelle.
