Here are some current events and promotions benefiting Feeding America and Second Harvest:
February 3, 2019 – February 1, 2020
With every $10 spent across the retailers’ pop culture-themed products, BoxLunch will help provide one meal (10 cents) to a person in need through the Feeding America network of food banks. Locally, they are at Westfield Oakridge Mall in San Jose.
Brandless sells everything in their assortment for just $3 each, including non-GMO snacks and pantry staples, EPA Safer Choice-Certified household cleaners, compostable tableware and much more. Every time you check out on brandless.com, they donate a meal to Feeding America, so while you stock your shelves, they help someone in need do the same.
Feeding America is one of 10 charities chosen to pilot Charity Miles, a free iPhone/Android app that empowers people to earn money for charity while walking, running or biking. Participants choose one of the app’s featured charities and hit the streets. The app will track the participant’s distance and they’ll earn money for their charity. Bikers earn 10 cents per mile; walkers and runners earn 25 cents per mile – all up to an initial $1,000,000 sponsorship pool.
Second Harvest of Silicon Valley will receive 65% of revenue generated by the Charity Miles app in Silicon Valley.

The Cheesecake Factory
July 30, 2019 – February 29, 2020
The Cheesecake Factory is relaunching their Pineapple Upside-Down Cheesecake for National Cheesecake Day 2019. For every slice sold from July 30, 2019 through February 29, 2020, The Cheesecake Factory will donate 25 cents to Feeding America.
Omni Hotels and Resorts
January 1, 2019 – December 31, 2019
For each booked and completed stay at an Omni branded hotel or resort in the United States, Omni will donate one meal (10 cents). Donations will apply to booking on any platform and will only apply to continuous stays (e.g., a one-night or five-night stay are both a single stay). Minimum $150,000, maximum $300,000. 90% of funds will be distributed to local food bank of the property where the room was booked; 10% supports the work of Feeding America’s national organization.
Additionally, Omni has partnered with the PGA Tour; for every “birdie-or-better” Omni will donate 40 cents (the equivalent of four meals). 90% of funds will be distributed to local food bank in the PGA Tour area; 10% supports the work of Feeding America’s national organization.
