Make Hunger History Awards

Make Hunger History Awards

It’s because of community champions like you who run host fundraisers and food drives that Second Harvest is able to provide food to more than a quarter of a million neighbors each and every month.

Awards structure

$1 = 2.5 points
1 pound = 1 point

Formula for total points:
Total Pounds + (Total Dollars x 2.5) = Total Points

*Corporations: per capita figure is calculated by dividing total points by the total number of employees at your local participating campuses.

*Non-corporate drives: per capita figure is calculated by dividing total points by the total number of members in your group.

2018 Make Hunger History Awards

We celebrated and recognized the companies, community groups and individuals who organized Food and Fund Drives and supported our mission in 2017. Over 300 people from very diverse groups (neighborhood associations, corporations, schools, congregations) attended the celebration.

“The Make Hunger History Awards is such a great event because it really is our chance to say ‘thank you’ to all the amazing groups that support Second Harvest Food Bank. Tackling hunger in Silicon Valley is a daunting task, but what we see with the awards ceremony is that everyone in our community, whether it is a school, congregation, or a corporation, plays a key role in ensuring our neighbors in need can get healthy, nutritious food,” said Bernadette White, Second Harvest Food Bank Corporate Philanthropy Officer.
