Eating right doesn’t have to be difficult – sometimes keeping it simple is the way to go. With help from our Health Ambassador volunteers, we’ve been able to show clients quick and easy recipes to use with the healthy, nutritious food they receive at distribution sites.

Our Nutrition Education Manager, Diana, making one of our popular recipes: butternut squash with apples and pears seasoned with cinnamon & nutmeg.

In addition to healthy eating, we also focus on educating families and their children to reduce their intake of sugar-sweetened beverages. According to the CDC, frequently drinking sugar-sweetened beverages is associated with chronic health diseases, such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and tooth decay/cavities. We recommend making fruit-infused water or energizing smoothies at home!

We hope you’re ready to spring into a new season, and a healthier you!
