Second Harvest started convening the Child Nutrition Coalition in 2016. Over 50 community partners have come together to break down silos and work toward optimizing the use of federal funds set aside to feed children. The Child Nutrition Coalition seeks to expand participation in school meal programs, afterschool meal programs and summer food programs to help meet the nutritional needs of local kids and teens. We also work to educate policymakers and stakeholders about the importance of collaborative partnerships to strengthen and improve the effectiveness of food and nutrition programs.
Coalition partners include government agencies, school districts, food service and nutrition providers, nonprofits and libraries.
We welcome organizations interested in helping us increase nutrition for kids and teens. Please email email@example.com to join the coalition.
