Niemand mag ooit honger lijden<\/h2><\/div>

Bij Second Harvest zijn we van mening dat honger onaanvaardbaar is. We voorzien elke maand voedsel aan gemiddeld ongeveer 500.000 kinderen, gezinnen en senioren op drive-thru- en walk-up-locaties in de provincies Santa Clara en San Mateo via onze programma's en een uitgebreid netwerk van bijna 400 non-profitpartners.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Boodschappenprogramma's<\/h2><\/div>

Onze boodschappenprogramma's bieden gratis voedzame boodschappen en verse producten aan onze buren die geen gezond voedsel kunnen betalen. Vrijwilligers verdelen het voedsel terwijl ze zich houden aan protocollen voor sociale afstand.<\/p>\n

Food Connection helpt mensen bij het vinden van gratis boodschappen en andere voedselbronnen in hun buurt. Meertalig personeel verwijst naar lokale voedselprogramma's en helpt mensen bij het aanvragen van CalFresh.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Community Partners<\/h2><\/div>

Ons programma voor partneragentschappen levert voedsel aan bijna 400 non-profitorganisaties in Silicon Valley. Deze omvatten op geloof gebaseerde organisaties, scholen, seniorencentra, gemeenschapsgroepen, gaarkeukens, revalidatiecentra en opvangcentra.<\/p>\n<\/div>

School- en zomermaaltijden<\/h2><\/div>

Gratis schoolmaaltijden met korting zijn een belangrijke voedingsbron voor kinderen en tieners. Second Harvest werkt samen met schooldistricten en gemeenschapspartners om het gebruik van deze maaltijden te maximaliseren.<\/p>\n

Tijdens de zomer verliezen kinderen en tieners de toegang tot schoolmaaltijden. Second Harvest leidt lokale inspanningen om het aantal locaties voor zomermaaltijden te vergroten en ervoor te zorgen dat gezinnen hiervan op de hoogte zijn.<\/p>\n<\/div>

CalFresh Outreach<\/h2><\/div>

In samenwerking met Santa Clara en de sociale diensten van de provincie San Mateo helpen we aanvragers om zich in te schrijven voor het CalFresh-programma. Het programma biedt een EBT-voordelenkaart voor gebruik bij deelnemende supermarkten en boerenmarkten.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Belangenbehartiging<\/h2><\/div>

Second Harvest leidt beleidsmakers en belanghebbenden op over het belang van sterke programma's en samenwerking bij het aanpakken van honger en aanverwante gezondheidsproblemen. We werken samen met lokale, staats- en nationale organisaties om te pleiten voor wetgeving en beleidsveranderingen die de effectiviteit van voedsel- en voedingsprogramma's versterken en verbeteren, en om systeemverandering te cre\u00ebren om honger te be\u00ebindigen.<\/p>\n<\/div>
