De Wellness Pantry is gericht op mensen met een laag inkomen die een of meer van de vijf gezondheidsproblemen hebben: prediabetes, zwangerschapsdiabetes, diabetes, hoge bloeddruk of hoog cholesterol. <strong>Dit programma is gemaakt om de medische toestand van een pati\u00ebnt te helpen verbeteren in combinatie met medische diensten van hun arts.<\/strong> Het is bewezen dat toegang tot gezonder en voedzamer voedsel ertoe kan leiden dat pati\u00ebnten een betere gezondheid krijgen, hun medische kosten verlagen (minder medicatie, tijd doorgebracht in het ziekenhuis) en dat ze lichamelijk actiever kunnen zijn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>De kliniek bedient naar schatting 7.000 volwassen pati\u00ebnten. Een ruwe schatting van hoeveel mensen de Wellness Pantry zouden kunnen bezoeken, is ongeveer 800 - 1.750 mensen.<\/strong> Screening van voedselonzekerheid in de kliniek komt ook tegemoet aan de voedselbehoeften van alle pati\u00ebnten. Wanneer een pati\u00ebnt wordt gescreend door zijn medische zorgverlener en er wordt vastgesteld dat hij niet beschikt over een van de vijf vooraf bepaalde medische aandoeningen, zullen ze een verwijzing krijgen naar een ander geweldig Second Harvest-voedselprogramma met gezond voedsel in de buurt van hun woonplaats.<\/p>\n<p>Iedereen die aan de gespecificeerde criteria voldoet, brengt het verwijzingsformulier dat ze van de Fair Oaks Health Clinic hebben ontvangen naar het Leger des Heils. De ontvanger krijgt vervolgens voedingsvoorlichting en -advies voordat hij meerdere zakken verse producten en andere gezonde voedingsmiddelen ontvangt, zoals melk, eieren, hele kip, quinoa, bruine rijst en tofu.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>We zijn absoluut enthousiast over deze lancering en kunnen niet wachten om het programma te laten groeien naarmate het jaar vordert!<\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Special Blog Post By: Mark Kokoletsos, Partnership Manager, Second Harvest.
