Marie, vertel eens wat over jezelf.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ik verhuisde vanuit Frankrijk naar de Bay Area, na de overplaatsing van mijn man. We vonden het hier geweldig en besloten om een groene kaart aan te vragen om te blijven.<\/p>\n

Waarom doe je vrijwilligerswerk en wat inspireert je om honger te bestrijden?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Met mijn kinderen nu op school, wilde ik iets nuttigs doen voor de gemeenschap. Ik dacht erover om in een non-profitorganisatie te werken en ik voelde dat vrijwilligerswerk een goed begin zou kunnen zijn. Ik had gewerkt als interne auditor en financieel analist, dus ik wist dat ik goede vaardigheden en ervaring had om een non-profitorganisatie aan te bieden.<\/p>\n

Waarom doe je vrijwilligerswerk bij Second Harvest?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ik vind het geweldig dat Second Harvest voedzame maaltijden biedt aan kinderen door de vele uitkeringen en belangenbehartiging tijdens het schooljaar en in de zomers. Ik kende kinderen die met een lege maag naar school kwamen en ik vond dit een geweldige manier om de gemeenschap te steunen. De Voedselbank biedt gezond voedsel en ik bied mijn tijd en vaardigheden aan om meer te weten te komen over een non-profitorganisatie in de VS. Het is een win-win.<\/p>\n

Hoe help je Second Harvest en onze gemeenschap?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Ik actualiseer het voedselbudget voor het komende fiscale jaar. Ik heb geleerd hoe het budget is samengesteld en heb wijzigingen aangebracht om de gegevensinvoer te stroomlijnen. Het is een zeer dynamisch model, met variabelen die twee keer per jaar worden bijgewerkt, dus het is cruciaal om een betrouwbaar model te hebben. Met behulp van de vaardigheden die ik tijdens mijn carri\u00e8re heb opgebouwd, heb ik het model vereenvoudigd en effici\u00ebnter gemaakt, waardoor het risico op fouten in het budget is verkleind.<\/p>\n

Je beste advies voor anderen die vrijwilligerswerk willen doen bij Second Harvest?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Twijfel niet! Het wordt een geweldige ervaring, zowel persoonlijk als professioneel. Ik heb geweldige mensen ontmoet. Ik wil graag weten dat wat ik doe, impact maakt.<\/p>\n

Hoe zou u uw ervaring met vrijwilligerswerk bij de Voedselbank in \u00e9\u00e9n woord omschrijven? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Gepassioneerd! Ik heb hier veel mensen ontmoet die gepassioneerd zijn over wat ze doen. Ik hou van vrijwilligerswerk in een dergelijke omgeving.<\/p>\n
