Op zaterdag 18 mei waren enkelen van ons van het digitale marketingteam van Second Harvest aanwezig Replate's<\/a> - en onze eerste - hackathon op de Algemene Vergadering in San Francisco. Bij binnenkomst wisten we niet wat we konden verwachten, maar toen we uitkwamen, hadden we onmiddellijke en langetermijnoplossingen om website-informatie gemakkelijk te vinden en te navigeren voor onze klanten, naast innovatieve idee\u00ebn om op te kauwen en leuke foto's met onze geweldig team.<\/p>\n<\/div>

De uitdaging<\/h2><\/div>

Replate, een voedselreddingsorganisatie, haalt overtollig voedsel op bij bedrijfskantoren, cateraars, restaurants en meer, en werkt samen met non-profitorganisaties om maaltijden te verstrekken aan mensen die met voedselonzekerheid in de gemeenschap worden geconfronteerd. Replate legt uit:<\/p>\n

\u201cEnkele van onze grootste en moeilijkste voedselproblemen worden opgelost door non-profitorganisaties. Het probleem is dat de meeste non-profitorganisaties niet de bandbreedte of middelen hebben om projecten te ontwerpen en te maken waarvoor een gemiddelde technische medewerker een dag nodig heeft. '<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Het doel was om non-profitorganisaties, ontwerpers en ontwikkelaars op het gebied van voedselrecht samen te brengen om te werken aan projecten die de strijd tegen honger en voedselverspilling verder zullen ondersteunen. Als een van de deelnemende non-profitorganisaties hebben we ons project voorgesteld en Replate heeft een line-up van vrijwilligers samengesteld om het aan te pakken.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Ons project<\/h2><\/div>

Een belangrijk initiatief voor Second Harvest is ervoor te zorgen dat we onze klanten begrijpen en aan hun behoeften voldoen. De hoge kosten van levensonderhoud in ons gebied maken toegang tot voedzaam voedsel een uitdaging en op manieren die stereotypen trotseren. Hoewel we momenteel elke maand gemiddeld 260.000 mensen bedienen, weten we dat er in onze gemeenschappen meer mensen zijn die met voedselonzekerheid kampen en die om verschillende redenen geen hulp zoeken.<\/p>\n

We willen dat mensen weten dat het ok\u00e9 is om om hulp te vragen, maar naast het bereiken van meer mensen, willen we ook een goede ervaring bieden - zowel via onze programma's als via onze website. Het is u misschien zelfs opgevallen dat we afgelopen herfst een nieuwe, mobiel-responsieve website hebben gelanceerd. Omdat zoveel van onze klanten onze website via hun mobiele telefoon gebruiken, was dit van cruciaal belang om ervoor te zorgen dat mensen intu\u00eftief de informatie kunnen vinden waarnaar ze op zoek zijn.<\/p>\n

Dit komt met een doel om onze PDF-inhoud, inclusief onze aanbiedingen voor warme maaltijden, naar website- en mobielvriendelijke inhoud te verplaatsen. We werkten samen met Hana en Robyn, zowel UX-ontwerpers als onderzoekers, en Tracey, een marketingcommunicatie-expert om een betere oplossing te vinden voor het weergeven van onze warme maaltijden. Blijf ons volgen om snel onze veranderingen te zien.<\/p>\n

Hana, Robyn en Tracey gingen snel aan de slag met whiteboarden, wireframen en het stellen van de juiste vragen om ons publiek, probleem en doel te begrijpen. Na een dag hard werken, liepen we weg met een gedifferentieerd plan van wat nu haalbaar is tot wat onze ideale uitkomst zou zijn.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Laatste afhaalrestaurants<\/h2><\/div>

Aan het eind van de dag kwamen alle non-profitorganisaties en vrijwilligers samen om hun projecten en oplossingen te delen. De teams van Berkeley Food Network, Berkeley Student Food Collective, Bread Project en Real Food Real Stories werkten aan projecten vari\u00ebrend van verhalen vertellen over eten tot website-navigatie. Ge\u00efnspireerd door ieders projecten was dit een geweldige ervaring en een manier om gezamenlijk onze idee\u00ebn te delen.<\/p>\n
