Harry Plant
Community Volunteer and Retired Technology Executive

Before retiring, Harry Plant developed and led the social impact initiative at Aeris Communications, working with social entrepreneurs and international NGOs to deploy technology solutions that lowered costs and expanded access to timely, reliable information for families in Africa and India living below the global poverty line.
He continues to serve on the board of Hello Tractor, an agricultural technology company that connects smallholder farmers in Africa to affordable mechanization through a digital ecosystem for tractor services. He also spends time during the school year as a volunteer helping students in mathematics at Eastside Prep in East Palo Alto.
Earlier in his career, he spent a decade as an investment banker at Montgomery Securities and UBS and 12 years as a corporate attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University, an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.
Harry and his wife have supported Second Harvest for many years. As the depth of food insecurity in Silicon Valley has come into sharper focus, the opportunity to serve on Second Harvest’s Board feels like both a privilege and a meaningful next chapter. He joined the Board in 2026.
Harry and his wife are part of a blended family that includes five children and their partners, a grandchild and three animal companions. He enjoys cooking for family and friends, swimming and long walks with the family’s Australian shepherd.
