Judith Guerrero
Executive Director, Coastside Hope

Judith Guerrero is the Executive Director of Coastside Hope, a vital social services agency in San Mateo County that is also one of Second Harvest’s agency partners. Since stepping into the role, she has led the organization to significantly expand its programs and deepen its impact — providing emergency support during the CZU Lightning Complex fires; mobilizing aid for more than 200 displaced workers following the sudden closure of a long-standing nursery; exposing wage theft affecting local farmworkers; maintaining essential services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic; and offering ongoing care to victims and families affected by the January 23 mass shooting tragedy. Judith’s connection to Coastside Hope runs deep: she first encountered the organization as a college scholarship recipient and later returned as a volunteer — unaware those early experiences would shape her path to one day becoming the organization’s leader.
Prior to Coastside Hope, Judith served as Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside where she championed youth development and community empowerment. She now serves as Chair of the San Mateo County Farmworker Advisory Commission and sits on the board of the San Mateo County Health Care for the Homeless & Farm Worker Health program.
Born in Jalisco, Mexico, Judith immigrated to the U.S. as a child and has called Half Moon Bay her home for over 25 years. She is the proud daughter of a farmworker — an experience that fuels her deep commitment to the agricultural workforce and to helping communities thrive. She holds a master’s degree in public administration and dual bachelor’s degrees in administration of justice and Sociology from San Jose State University.
