In Silicon Valley — one of the wealthiest regions in the country — far too many neighbors still struggle to put food on the table. Today, 1 in 6 people in our community turns to Second Harvest each month for nutritious food and half are kids and seniors.

圣克拉拉县食品银行公司由经济及社会机遇组织于1974年成立，并于1979年成立为非营利性机构。1988年，圣马特奥县食物银行与圣克拉拉县食品银行公司合并成为圣克拉拉和圣马特奥县的第二丰收食品银行。

1992年，Second Harvest搬入了位于圣何塞的65,000平方英尺的新仓库，该仓库现在是Curtner中心。 1996年，食品银行的半岛配送中心（Bing中心）开始在圣卡洛斯一个新装修的22,000平方英尺的仓库中为圣马特奥县提供服务。 2012年，Second Harvest在北圣何塞开设了赛普拉斯中心，使其运营翻了一番，并提供了专门的产品分销设施。

在2019年，该组织更名为硅谷第二收获基地，并继续为圣克拉拉和圣马特奥所有县提供服务。
